The aim of this module will be to equip the student to interpret the Biblical text by teaching the fundamental principles of Biblical exegesis, by which the original meaning of the text can first be drawn out and then applied to the contemporary context. The student will be introduced to the literary conventions for reading and interpreting the different genres of the Old and New Testament, as well as to the use of the historical and literary context in Biblical interpretation.
