The aim of this module is to introduce the student to the disciplines of biblical counselling and psychology. Each participant will be exposed to issues related to mental health, emotional wellbeing and their connection with spiritual maturity. 
 
A significant aspect of this module is learning how scriptural principles can be used effectively in counselling Christians who may be at different places spiritually and emotionally. The human heart is complex and it often takes wisdom, skill and discernment to draw out the deep-seated emotions rooted in each heart. Participants will be introduced to counselling techniques that combine thoroughness with sensitivity. Further, students will also learn when it is advisable to refer matters to professional counsellors. 
 
Whether one serves in leadership or not, this module promises to equip every Christian with useful tools to make us all competent to counsel one another, and informed enough to know the limits of our counselling. Ultimately, the goal is to produce Christ-like character in each other using the Word of God.
